DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is an email validation system used to check that an e-mail has been sent by an authorized individual or email server. An electronic signature is attached to the email’s header using a private key. When the email is received, a public key that is available in the global Domain Name System is used to check who exactly sent it and whether the content has been edited in some way. The prime task of DomainKeys Identified Mail is to stop the widely spread spam and scam emails, as it makes it impossible to forge an email address.
